Wichita Collegiate School (WCS), a thriving Independent School located in Wichita, KS, is hiring Substitute Teachers for all Divisions.
Wichita Collegiate School is a coeducational, college preparatory, independent day school for students in Early Childhood 2-year-olds through Grade 12. Located in East Wichita on a 42-acre campus, Wichita Collegiate is home to just under 970 students in four divisions. These divisions are named Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.
Wichita Collegiate School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS), is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and is a member of Independent School Management (ISM).
Position Description
Wichita Collegiate School is a place that values the whole child and supports the unique needs that students bring with them as they enhance our school community. Substitute Teachers are expected to maintain a positive classroom environment in the absence of the primary teacher.
Substitute Teachers are needed in the following divisions.
- Early Childhood substitutes work with preschoolers through kindergarten.
- Lower School Substitutes work with Grades 1-4.
- Middle School Substitutes work with Grades 5-8.
- Upper School Substitutes work with Grades 9-12.
The primary responsibilities of substitutes include, but not limited to, the following:
- Follow lesson plans as outlined by the teacher and maintain a classroom environment that allows for effective student-led learning.
- Keep children safe with diligent supervision by enforcing school rules and rules by the teacher.
Successful Collegiate Substitute Teachers enjoy the classroom and can quickly build a rapport with students. Substitutes should have some experience working in education, but not required.
