2024 Summer Exploration Camp Aide

Wichita Collegiate School (WCS), hosts a fun-filled Summer Exploration Program from June 3 through July 26 and is hiring seasonal Summer Camp Aides. Our Camp Aides are responsible for helping our camp instructors with camp activities and fostering a supportive and collaborative camp experience. Our summer camp serves the greater Wichita community and offers a wide-range of programs for ages 2 to 14.

Position Description

Camp Aides interact with young children during every shift and perform a variety of tasks. The Camp Aide position is essential for successful camp operations. The primary responsibilities of an Camp Aide include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Actively participate in activities and engage with the students in ways that contribute to a positive summer camp experience.
  • Keep children safe with diligent supervision by enforcing the rules provided by the camp instructor and school rules.
  • Help with the daily maintenance class/camp materials to ensure orderly environment; this may include, activity set up, room clean up, organizing materials, or other tasks as identified by the camp instructor.
  • Be flexible and willing to help with additional tasks as assigned.

Successful Camp Aides like to have fun and engage with young children. Aides should have some experience working with children, but not required.

Camp Aides will be required to pass a background check, attend training meetings and activities between May 30 and June 2, comply with all school confidentiality policies, and complete safe child training.
